Sheena Holm Defends Her Connection to Uganda Amid Criticism
Kampala Crème star Sheena Holm is addressing criticism from viewers who questioned her place on the show because of her time abroad.
While appearing on Sabrina Agasha’s It’s Never That Serious podcast, Holm responded to a comment that read: “Why would you put someone on Kampala Creme who has only lived here one year?”
She clarified that she has actually spent a lot of time in Uganda.
I want to make this very clear. I moved back a year ago, but that does not mean I was not living here prior.
She explained that although she officially returned recently, her connection to Uganda has always been strong.
I did my Bachelors and Masters in the UK where I was gone for like 5 to 6 years. But when I say gone I was still coming to Uganda every Christmas, every summer, every Easter. I was still traveling back.
Even while studying abroad, Sheena spent months each year in Uganda, keeping her ties to home alive.
Uganda is my home. Like I still come here, I was still spending two, three months of the year if you add up all the summers, Christmas, and everything, here.
She wrapped up by emphasizing that her life in Uganda spans most of her formative years.
It is not like I have moved here randomly and I have never been here. I was living here since I was 12, I am 25 now. Do the math.
