Sheilah Gashumba on the Rise of Failed Marriages: What Hope Is Left for Single Women?
In recent months, social media has been flooded with stories of marriages falling apart and couples breaking up.
The latest involves Apostle Jonah from Millennials For Christ, who publicly announced the end of his long-term relationship with Enid Mirembe after seven years together.
In response to the growing number of breakup stories online, media personality Sheilah Gashumba took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to share her concerns.
“We need to start hearing some good stories about marriage, because everything on the internet about marriage lately is screaming ‘it will end in tears,’” she wrote.
She went on to question what hope remains for single women like herself, who are often criticized for not being married.
“Now us single girls/women, whom you keep abusing that we are not being married, where should we go, dear?” she asked.
Sheilah concluded by saying it is heartbreaking to watch couples part ways after having children and building a life together.
She added that she would never want to experience that kind of pain.
We need to start hearing some good stories about marriage, cause everything on the internet about marriage lately is screaming ‘it will end in tears’ Kati ffe ba single girls/woman who you keep abusing that we aren’t married, tugoinge wa ba dear?? It would really break my heart…
