Sheilah Gashumba Says She Cannot Call Her Dad’s Fiancée ‘Mum’ and Explains Why
After the glamorous introduction ceremony of her father, Frank Gashumba, and his youthful fiancée, Patience Mutoni Malaika, social media lit up with excitement, questions, and cheeky jokes.
But one question seemed to stand out among them all: Would Sheilah Gashumba call her dad’s new fiancée “Mum”?
The socialite and media personality did not leave her fans guessing for long.
Following the lavish function that took place in Sembabule on 15 May 2025, Sheilah took to her platform on X to congratulate her father and his bride-to-be.

It was all love until journalist Simon Kaggwa Njala cheekily responded to her post with the question, “Can’t you say Mum?”
That single sentence sparked laughter and debate online, with many wondering how Sheilah would navigate her new family dynamic, as it is believed that she is older than her stepmother.
But Sheilah, never one to hold back, responded with grace and humor.
With a burst of laughing emojis, she said she would only call the woman who gave birth to her “Mum.”
She also congratulated Malaika once again and jokingly added that she is expecting two siblings from the couple.
So far, neither Frank Gashumba nor Malaika has responded to the “mother-daughter” chatter.
But judging from their smiles at the introduction ceremony, it is safe to say they are focused on love and not the noise.
