Sheilah Gashumba Worried Politics Could Steal Uganda’s December Enjoyments
Socialite and DJ Sheilah Gashumba has taken to her X page to express her worry that the ongoing campaigns might affect the December party mood.
Uganda’s unofficial month of nonstop fun seems to be grappling with politics for attention.
Sheila, who pulled crowds last year with her “One Man One Bottle event,” now wonders whether campaign season might sip away some of the holiday excitement.
I hope politics doesn’t ruin this December for the entertainment sector because Uganda is one of top 5 African destinations to party in December 😫😫😫

A chunk of artistes who would normally be doing shows at popular hangouts are held up at political rallies.
Their absence at the usual hotspots is leaving the vibe wanting and bar owners redundant.
December usually comes with its own rhythm, especially when the basummer crew jets in, ready to party as if they are recovering lost time.
But this year, whispers of post-election uncertainties have some people clutching their wallets a bit tighter.
Even so, betting against Ugandans and their party spirit is a losing game.
If politics tries to overshadow entertainment, someone will probably flip it into a campaign return theme night.
People will show up in outfits inspired by their favourite candidates and call it fashion.
Ugandans never fail to find a reason to celebrate.
December fun might bend a little, but it will not break.
