Shs110M SACCO Fund for DJs Leaves Many Asking Questions
A Shs110 million SACCO fund announced for Ugandan DJs has sparked confusion across the industry.
The funding was secured by the United DJs Association Uganda, led by DJ Nimrod, and delivered by Eddy Kenzo through the Uganda National Musicians Federation.
While the initiative was meant to empower DJs financially, many industry players say they were surprised by the announcement.
Some DJs say they had never heard of the association behind the SACCO.
Questions quickly spread across social media as DJs asked how the organization operates. Many also wanted to know how they could join and access the funds.
The debate grew louder after DJ Bugy raised concerns about the existence of several DJ associations in Uganda.
