Singer Nanyanzi Rahmah Alias Pinky Defends Performing During Ramadan
While some believe Muslim artistes should take a break from music gigs during the holy month, the “Picha” fame singer, Pinky, sees things differently.
She explained to Sanyuka TV that when she prays to Allah, she asks for financial blessings and opportunities.
So, when those opportunities come her way, she does not see any reason to turn them down.
For her, Allah resides in her heart, and if she prays for a better life but rejects the opportunities He provides, it would mean she does not truly want what she asked for.
She also emphasized that faith is personal, and everyone practices it in their own way.
To honor the holy month, Pinky ensures she dresses modestly during her performances.
She mentioned clothing such as boyfriend jeans, T-shirts, and sneakers as her preferred choices for performances during Ramadan.
This ongoing debate is not new to the music industry. Recently, singer King Saha faced criticism from fellow artiste Lil Pazo for performing in Ibanda during the holy month.
Now, whereas some may choose to pause their performances, others, like Pinky, believe in balancing their faith with the opportunities they receive.
