‘Single Mother’ Stigma Only Applies to Struggling Women,Says Mercy Eke

Nigerian reality star Mercy Eke has shared that she is open to having children even if she is not married.

The Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner says that while she is not actively planning to become a single mother, she would welcome a baby if it happened.

Mercy believes that being a single mother does not carry the same stigma for successful women.

She says women who are doing well in their careers or life face less judgment, and some even have men pursuing them for marriage.

Even if I do not get married, I would still have kids. What most people do not know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who do not have things going well for them. The women [single mothers] that are shattering glasses, men are begging them for marriage.

Mercy also revealed her dream of having three children, with a preference for girls.

She says marriage is not her main priority and that she is still waiting for the right partner.

Even if she has a child before tying the knot, she plans to continue looking for love.
