Songwriting in Uganda is Not Profitable, Fyno Reveals

Ugandan singer and songwriter Fyno has finally decided to put himself first in his music career after years of dedicating his time to writing songs for others.

In a recent interview, he revealed that his focus on songwriting for other artistes had slowed down his personal growth in the industry.

“For a long time, I was giving more time to others than myself. I would write many songs but only release one as my own,” Fyno explained.

He admitted that this routine left him feeling stuck, leading him to make a bold decision to prioritize his own music career.

Fyno also pointed out that songwriting in Uganda is not as rewarding as people think.

Most deals are one-off transactions, with little to no royalties, making it difficult for songwriters to sustain long-term growth.

Realizing that time was passing without the progress he desired, he decided to take control of his career.

Now fully focused, Fyno is already seeing results. His latest song is trending on TikTok, and he is in the process of shooting the music video to give it even more exposure.

He also promised to keep the momentum going, with another song set for release soon.

Fyno also admitted to his past struggles with drug use but confirmed that he has overcome most of those challenges.

“This time, I am not taking my foot off the gas. There will be no more disappointments for my fans,” he assured.

With a renewed focus and a determined mindset, he is ready to take the industry by storm and deliver song after song for his supporters.
