Spice Diana Condemns Violence at Public Events, Advocates for Stronger Security Measures

Spice Diana, real name Diana Hajara Namukwaya, has expressed deep concern over the chaos that unfolded during the Empele Festival on January 1st.

Speaking to Sanyuka TV about the incident, she said that while musicians having large entourages, locally referred to as egaali, is not necessarily an issue, the events at the festival highlighted how it can become a serious problem.

She mentioned that the festival, which was a family-friendly event, saw many parents attend with their children.

However, the situation took a troubling turn when tensions escalated between Alien Skin and Pallaso’s camps, creating a chaotic scene.

Spice Diana stated that innocent attendees, including children, were caught up in the commotion and could have been seriously harmed.

“It was disappointing to see musicians, who are meant to entertain and bring joy, at the center of such chaos,” Spice Diana said.

She emphasized that artistes must reflect on their actions and remember their responsibility as role models.

She added that fans spend their hard-earned money to watch performances, not to witness violence, especially in settings where children are present.

“That kind of violent and chaotic behavior has no place at any event or show,” she noted.

Regarding Pallaso’s decision to confront Alien Skin at his home after the incident, Spice Diana said she could not fully fault him, as he may have had his reasons.

However, she stressed that peace and dialogue are always the best ways to resolve conflicts, adding that violence only endangers lives and doesn’t provide lasting solutions.

Spice Diana also highlighted the importance of the police in ensuring safety at events.

Despite their presence, the chaos still occurred, and she called on law enforcement to step up their efforts in maintaining order and protecting attendees.
