Spotify Introduces “Reserved” Feature for Early Concert Ticket Access

For years, music fans have complained about concert tickets ending up in the hands of resellers before genuine supporters even get a chance to buy them.

Now, Spotify says it wants to change that.

The company has introduced a new feature called “Reserved,” which will allow some of an artiste’s most loyal listeners to buy tickets early before general sales open.

Spotify said the system will rely on fan engagement, including streaming patterns and activity connected to specific artistes on the app.

Fans who qualify will receive a special invitation through email and in app notifications.

The company also plans to verify users to reduce bot activity and improve the chances of tickets reaching real fans.

The feature will first launch for eligible Premium subscribers in the United States before expanding to additional countries and tours over time.
