In response, Sqoop maintains his innocence. During an interview, he explained that the incident occurred at a bar during one of his performances.
Sqoop stated that Tumwesigye approached the stage under the pretense of offering money but unexpectedly began pushing him, seemingly attempting to embarrass him.
After the show, Tumwesigye followed Sqoop outside, along with a group of fans.
Sqoop shared that he saw Tumwesigye being pushed by the crowd, which led to a fight breaking out.
However, he insisted that he did not get involved and quickly entered his car to leave the scene.
The singer believes that Tumwesigye may have been injured during the altercation and pointed out that public figures like himself are often targeted with false accusations, as they are easily recognized and remembered.
He described the charges as baseless and suspected they were part of an effort to damage his reputation.
While not naming anyone directly, Sqoop hinted that a manager of another musician may be behind the accusations.
Despite the circumstances, he expressed sympathy for Tumwesigye and said he is open to resolving the matter.
