Stadiums or Bars? Mac Pro Clears Air on Ugandan Artistes’ UK Shows
Ugandan UK-based Deejay Mac Pro has weighed in on the long-running debate about Ugandan artistes performing abroad, especially in the United Kingdom.
Many artistes often talk about their overseas shows, but fans usually ask one thing: are they filling stadiums, or are they just performing in small clubs?
Speaking on Sanyuka Uncut, Mac Pro said the answer sits somewhere in between.
According to him, Ugandan artistes may not be staging stadium concerts, but they are still performing in large, reputable venues rather than bars.
They do not perform in Stadiums, but we have big venues that are not bars. Have you ever heard of Royal Regency? Have you heard of Troxy? Those are very big halls just like Serena or Hotel Africana. And most artsites that I know and have worked with have performed in big halls.
From his explanation, the picture is clear.
Ugandan artistes performing abroad are stepping onto serious stages that hold sizeable crowds.
So while the stadium talk might be a stretch, the venues are still far from small-time.
I have promoted Ugandan music beyond our borders, and the impact is evident in the people I have worked with. – Mac Pro#SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates #FfeBannoDdala pic.twitter.com/EWxMaBQIBX
