Swangz Avenue’s Julius Kyazze Calls Azawi Uganda’s Greatest Living Songwriter
Swangz Avenue co-founder Julius Kyazze has lavished praise on singer Priscilla Zawedde, popularly known as Azawi.
According to Kyazze, Azawi, who is signed to Swangz Avenue, is the greatest songwriter alive in Uganda.
Having worked with numerous artistes over the years, he believes that no current creator surpasses her talent.
The only other artiste he includes in that conversation is the late Mowzey Radio.
I think Azawi is the greatest songwriter in Uganda, alive, in my opinion and I have worked with many. The only other guy I have met that you could bring in that conversation is not with us anymore, Mowzey Radio. Alive, I do not think I have met a better creator.
Whether Kyazze’s statement is meant to position Azawi as a top artist or reflects his genuine opinion is open to debate.
