Taylor Swift Smashes Records With 500 Million Streams in Three Days
Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, is dominating the music world.
Released on October 3 through Republic Records, it has already passed 500 million Spotify streams in only three days.
The album features 12 tracks filled with confidence, glamour, and reinvention.
Max Martin, Shellback, and Sabrina Carpenter all worked with Swift on the project.
The lead single, The Fate of Ophelia, broke Spotify’s record for the most streams in a single day, while the full album hit 139 million plays within its first 11 hours.
Fans helped push it to the top with more than six million pre-saves, the highest ever on Spotify.
Songs like Opalite and Ruin the Friendship have taken over the charts, holding nine of the top ten spots on Apple Music.
Swift marked the release with a New York City pop-up event and a short film, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, which earned up to 30 million dollars in theaters.
Critics say the album captures Swift’s signature storytelling and catchy pop sound.
It is expected to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 with over two million sales.
