Tears Flow as Comedian Sammie Begs Mother for Forgiveness on Live TV
Comedian Sammie, one half of the duo Sammie & Shawa, has emotionally confirmed that the rumors about his mother disowning him are true.
He opened up about the emotional toll it has taken on him, revealing that any mention of his mother stirs strong feelings.
With their first big comedy show scheduled for May 2, Sammie shared how painful it is knowing his mother will not be in the audience to witness the milestone.
“It is true my mother disowned me because we are Christians, and she believes I am doing something wrong by pursuing comedy. She says comedy is satanic,” Sammie said through tears during an interview with Sanyuka TV.
He also took the opportunity to issue a public apology to his mother.
“Mama, wherever you are, I am kindly asking you to forgive me. Please accept my job in comedy. I am not stealing, I am not doing drugs, and I do not drink alcohol. I am just using my words and body to earn an honest living without hurting anyone,” he said.
In a touching moment, Sammie went a step further and called his mother live on air in an attempt to speak to her and end the long-standing rift.
She picked up and responded calmly but firmly, saying, “You know what led to the split between us, and you also know what to do in order to mend our relationship.”
