Tems and Burna Boy Set New Billboard Hot 100 Record

A new chapter has opened for African music on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100.

Tems and Burna Boy have now become the African artistes with the most entries in the chart’s history, moving ahead of South African band Seether.

The trio had been tied at seven entries each.

The breakthrough came this week through their features on J. Cole’s album The Fall Off.

“Bounce Road Blues” with Tems and Future debuted at number 34, while Only You featuring Burna Boy entered at number 78.

Those placements pushed both Nigerian stars to eight total Hot 100 entries each.

For Tems, it marks her third entry of the year, the most by any African artiste so far in 2026.

Burna Boy, on the other hand, extended his own legacy by becoming the first African act to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years.
