The Triple MG Boss Sets Strict Rule for Female Artistes: No Pregnancy
Nigerian music mogul Ubi Franklin sparked conversation by revealing why he bars his female artistes from getting pregnant while under contract.
The Triple MG boss says pregnancy can stall a budding career, making it almost impossible for a singer to regain momentum afterward.
Speaking on the Culture Sonic podcast, Franklin admitted that he includes a “no pregnancy” clause in his contracts.
He explained that investing in a young female artiste is costly, and a pregnancy can derail all the work put into building her brand.
Franklin clarified that he is not against women having children, but he believes they should first establish a solid career.
He noted that the rule protects both the artiste and the label, ensuring that talents can focus on their craft before taking on the responsibilities of parenthood.
