The Untold Reasons Behind Brian Avie’s Decision to Decline Bebe Cool’s Collaboration During Lockdown
While a collaboration with Bebe Cool could have boosted his career, Brian Avie cited financial limitations and Uganda’s intense political climate as the reasons for his decision to decline.
In a recent media interview, Brian Avie revealed that he first connected with Bebe Cool by sending some of his songs via WhatsApp after obtaining his contact from a friend.
To his surprise, Bebe Cool liked one of the songs, called Byowaba, and ended up buying and releasing it.
In their conversation, Bebe Cool praised Brian Avie’s talent and offered him the option to collaborate or simply buy his songs.
Although honored by the offer, Brian Avie ultimately chose to decline the collaboration.
At the time, Brian Avie did not have enough money to produce and market the collaboration properly.
Without sufficient funds, he felt he could not fully benefit from such a big opportunity.
He was also concerned about Uganda’s political environment.
With fans divided along political lines, Brian Avie worried that working closely with Bebe Cool, a known supporter of the ruling government, could alienate some of his fans.
In a country where people are split between NRM and NUP supporters, Brian Avie felt that aligning with any political figure could limit his long-term growth and fan base.
