Tiwa Savage Opens Up About Losing Confidence After Childbirth

Tiwa Savage has shared a very personal side of motherhood, revealing that she was not happy when she found out she was having a baby boy.

The Nigerian singer opened up during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, explaining that she had always wanted a daughter.

Because of that, she said bonding with her son did not come easily at first, and it took time before she truly connected with him.

Tiwa also spoke about how childbirth affected her confidence and career at the time.

She recalled losing a major opportunity after her body changed, and she believed motherhood had ruined her image in the industry.

But years later, her feelings are completely different. Tiwa said her son has become her closest companion, describing him as her best friend.

She added that her past relationship experiences also influence how she is raising him.

According to her, she often teaches him to respect women and grow into a kind man.

Tiwa shares a son, Jamil Balogun, with her ex-husband Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Tee Billz.

Jamil was born in July 2015 and turned 10 in 2025.
