Tiwa Savage Says Afrobeats Is Unstoppable Amid Decline Claims
Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage has dismissed claims that Afrobeats is losing its shine.
The “All Over” singer says the genre is stronger than ever and continues to break barriers across the world.
Her comments come after music executives, including Paulo Okoye and DJ Big N, suggested that Afrobeats is going through its weakest period in 20 years.
Speaking at the Unstoppable Africans event, Savage disagreed, saying the movement is only getting bigger on charts and global tours.
She reflected on how far African music has come, recalling that growing up in London, she once felt ashamed of her African identity.
Today, she said, Afrobeats has given Africans worldwide pride and recognition.
Savage noted that the genre has reached global success without much industry support or structure, proving its power and influence.
She added that Afrobeats continues to dominate stages and charts despite doubts from critics.
