Tory Lanez Loses Another Legal Battle While Megan Thee Stallion Fires Back

The long-running legal drama between rapper Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion has taken another turn.

On August 12, 2025, a California court rejected two requests from Lanez’s lawyers to bring in new evidence in his shooting case.

The lawyers had wanted the court to hear from his driver, Jauquan Smith, and a security guard for Kelsey Harris.

They claimed the guard could say Harris fired the gun that injured Megan.

Judges decided the requests were either too late or not allowed under the law.

Lanez still has one chance left to argue his case in court.

Oral arguments are set for August 18 and will focus on what the jury was allowed to hear during the trial.

For now, he remains in California Men’s Colony, where he was moved after being stabbed 14 times by another prisoner in May.

That attack happened while he was serving time at California Correctional Institution.

Megan Thee Stallion is not staying quiet. She says the new claims are false and meant to damage her.

She points out that the jury had strong evidence in the original trial, including proof of where the gun was found, gunshot residue, and bullet fragments in her feet.

Her legal team has sent out a detailed slideshow breaking down why the new story does not hold up.

Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan in 2020.

He was found guilty in December 2022 of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered gun, and firing it with gross negligence.
