Tyla Beats Davido and Burna Boy to Clinch NAACP Image Award

The South African hitmaker won Outstanding International Song at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards for her 2025 release Is It.
The category featured strong competition from Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and Skip Marley.
The announcement was made on 24 February as part of the early winners revealed ahead of the main ceremony at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
The victory marks Tyla’s first NAACP Image Award and reinforces her growing foothold in the United States market.
Competing against established Afrobeats names, her single emerged as the standout in a field packed with global chart contenders.
