Ubi Franklin Explains Why Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy Rarely Collaborate

Nigeria’s Afrobeats “Big 3,” Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, are at the top of the industry, but fans rarely see them collaborate.

Music executive Ubi Franklin has explained why.

Speaking on the Afropolitan podcast, Franklin said that being the biggest stars naturally puts them in competition.

He compared it to the rivalry between top banks in Nigeria, where everyone is striving to be number one.

Franklin stressed that there is no personal animosity among the artistes.

He said he has never heard Davido speak badly about Wizkid or Burna Boy and believes the feeling is mutual.

According to him, the challenge comes from the pressures and environment of the music industry rather than from the artistes themselves.
