UCC Bans Wegoso’s “Mukube Paver” Over Violent Content

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has suspended the song “Mukube Paver” by Dynaso Wegoso following public complaints over its content.

In a notice dated April 7, 2026, UCC said it reviewed the song’s lyrics and visuals after concerns that it promotes violence and aggressive behavior, especially among young people on social media.

The regulator warned that the track has influenced a growing trend of dangerous online challenges, with youths imitating actions referenced in the song.

UCC has now directed all broadcasters, streaming platforms, and content distributors to immediately stop airing, promoting, or sharing the song until further notice.

The ban also applies to digital platforms and the general public, with the Commission warning that anyone who continues to distribute the content risks facing legal action.

In addition, Dynaso Wegoso has been summoned to appear before the Commission to explain the song.

UCC said the move aims to protect public safety and ensure media content aligns with national values.
