Veteran Actor Rushabiro Calls for Financial Integrity in Uganda’s Film Industry
Award-winning veteran actor Raymond Rushabiro has revealed what he would prioritize if given the responsibility of leading Uganda’s film industry.
While on Sanyuka TV’s Morning Xpress, Rushabiro said his top priority would be fostering a culture of financial transparency and improving the quality of films.
People are not honest especially when it comes to finances.
He went on to elaborate on a situation that commonly occurs and why he is emphasizing the need for honesty and transparency in the industry.
If you tell me you are going to give me 100 shillings on Friday, then give me 100 shillings on Friday just as you promised. But instead, you disappear for four months and then bring only 50 shillings.
Beyond the financial issues, Rushabiro emphasized the need to raise the quality of films being produced in Uganda.
He pointed out that true progress would require serious investment in the right tools and talent.
To achieve high-quality films, we need modern equipment. But it is not just about tools; we also need skilled trainers, directors, and actors who are updated and constantly improving.
