Viboyo Clears Air on Brotherhood Rumors With Jose Chameleone
Ugandan singer Viboyo has finally addressed long standing claims that he is related to Jose Chameleone.
Because of what many fans describe as a striking resemblance between the two veteran artistes, rumors have circulated for years suggesting they are brothers and members of the famous Mayanja family.
Viboyo has now come out to clear the air.
Speaking on The Breastfast Show on NBS Plus, the singer said the assumption is something he has dealt with for a long time, but insisted the connection is purely friendship, not blood.
He explained that his long history with Chameleone and the Mayanja family has likely fueled the confusion, stressing that while the bond is deep, it does not make them relatives.
For now, Viboyo says fans can put the brotherhood rumors to rest, unless, of course, a DNA test ever proves otherwise.
My relationship with Chameleone… you know, I get this a lot, and I have gotten it for a long time. People think I am a Mayanja. Maybe I should go and do DNA. Chameleone is my longtime friend, way before he was even Jose Chameleone. We are friends, but we are not brothers. The whole Mayanja family, all the boys, have been my friends for a long time. I have known Chameleone since ’97. That is almost 30 years, but we are not related. Maybe our parents, I do not know… maybe, but we can do some DNA.
