Vinka Reveals Why She Was Not Part of the Yoweri Music Album
Ugandan singer Vinka has explained why she was absent from the launch of the Yoweri Music Album.
The album, launched on September 27 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, was attended by President Yoweri Museveni, First Lady Janet Museveni, top government officials, artistes, and music stakeholders.
It was organized by the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) under the leadership of Eddy Kenzo.
While many artistes were part of the project, Vinka revealed to Sanyuka Uncut that she was not invited.
No one called us. You know, when you are going to do a collaboration with someone, you call them and tell them you would love to do a song with them. So whoever is on that album probably received a phone call.
Vinka also made it clear that there is no hard feelings over her exclusion:
Who got annoyed? No one called me so I had no idea. Every musician has their own program. So, if they do not inform you about a program, you never get to know about it. So how can you go there when you do not know. Personally, no one called me, I do not want to speak for anyone else.
Her remarks come as fans continue to question why some top musicians were missing from the album launch.
