Violah Nakitende Transitions from Christianity to Islam, Reveals New Name
Ugandan singer Violah Nakitende, known for her romantic love songs, has officially converted to Islam after years of being a Christian.
The artiste revealed that her decision comes after years of living closely with Muslims, including family members and her manager.
She noted that observing her manager’s prayers before performances inspired her belief, especially as many of the prayers she witnessed seemed to come true.
After careful reflection, Nakitende publicly embraced Islam and adopted a new name, Nahia, marking a significant turning point in her personal and spiritual life.
All my life, I have lived among Muslims, including members of my own family. My manager is also Muslim, and I have watched him pray before every performance. Many of the things he has prayed for have come true. Today, I have confidently declared my trust in Islam and have converted. My new name is Nahia.
