VIP Jemo Says His Songs Carry a Positive Message, Not Vulgarity

Self-proclaimed “King of the New School,” Kasozi Batende, better known as VIP Jemo, has defended his music against accusations of vulgarity.

Appearing on Sanyuka Uncut, the singer, known for his controversial song “Dildo,” insisted that his music carries a message and should not be dismissed as obscene.

What I know is that my music has actually helped improve Ugandan society. I have heard that these days people are no longer using dildos. What I know is they are now doing the right thing.

He further emphasized that his songs are meant to counsel and guide listeners, rather than corrupt them.
