VJ OJ of ‘Zino Enaku’ Breaks Silence: “I Never Quit Music, You Just Stopped Paying Attention”

VJ OJ, the singer behind the hit song “Zino Enaku” alongside Radio and Weasel, recently opened up about his musical journey while addressing the curiosity surrounding his age.

Without directly revealing how old he is, the UK-based artiste shared that he was just 14 years old when the song was released in 2009, leaving it to critics to do the math.

This revelation, made during a media interview, surprised many who had not realized he started his music career so young.

Shifting the focus to his music career, VJ OJ said that despite limited attention from the Ugandan media, he has never stopped making music and performing.

“I have released music almost every year. I have many songs and videos out. It is just that I got lost in Uganda, but everywhere else I am active. I do a lot of shows in the UK because that is where I live,” he revealed.

Reflecting on his experience making music in the UK, VJ OJ admitted it is challenging, particularly because of the high costs involved.

However, his passion keeps him going.

“It costs more to do things there. If you want to make a video, it is very costly. But if you love something, if you are passionate about something, it cannot fail,” he explained.

He also noted that continuing to create Ugandan music while based in the UK gives him a unique edge.

“Doing Ugandan music even when I am in the UK is a unique factor. Their music is completely different from ours. I see it as an opportunity and a unique advantage to do my Ugandan music, and I always try to focus on it even though I have many international hits,” he added.
