Walukaga’s Busiro East MP Bid Hangs in Court, Verdict Set for December 22

Artiste-turned-politician Mathias Walukaga is in a legal battle after the Election Committee dismissed him from appearing on the ballot for the Busiro East Member of Parliament seat.

Last week, the committee cited a lack of the required academic qualifications as the reason for his disqualification.

Following the ruling, Walukaga instructed his legal team, led by Counsel Nalukoola, to challenge the Election Committee’s decision.

His lawyers maintain that Walukaga possesses all the necessary academic documents that qualify him to contest for the Busiro East MP position.

On December 16, Justice Simon Peter Kinobe heard the petition and informed both parties that he will deliver his ruling on Monday, 22nd December 2025.

Speaking to Sanyuka Uncut after the hearing, Walukaga expressed full confidence in his legal team, praising their efforts.

He added that he is now patiently waiting for the court’s judgment next Monday and remains optimistic about winning the case.

Fans are closely following the developments, eagerly awaiting to see if the artiste will secure his chance to contest in Busiro East politics.
