What Sets Joshua Baraka Apart, According to Music Analyst Shadrack Kisame

Shadrack Kisame, a music data analyst and Team Lead at Ugatunes, has credited Joshua Baraka’s rapid rise, both locally and internationally, to what he describes as an unmatched work ethic rarely seen among Ugandan artistes.

Speaking on NBS After 5, Shadrack said Joshua’s discipline, mindset, and willingness to listen to his team have set him apart from his peers.

Everyone is saying Joshua, Joshua, Joshua. But Joshua’s work ethic is not that of a normal artiste. His work ethic is different. His understanding and reasoning are not typical of a normal Ugandan artiste. Joshua will listen to Lobster every step of the way. Other musicians will not listen to their teams.

He noted that while many artistes rush to show visible signs of success, Joshua prioritizes long term investment in his career, even when it means personal sacrifice.

If Lobster tells Joshua, ‘We are not buying a car, we are going to London. The ten thousand dollars you want to use to buy a car, let us go and push music instead,’ Joshua will understand and accept.

According to Shadrack, this level of sacrifice is something many fans do not see, yet it plays a major role in Joshua’s progress.

People do not even know that Joshua uses boda bodas and Uber because he is sacrificing for his music, and that is something we do not have in other musicians here. As soon as they do a few performances and gigs, they demand a car.

Behind the performances and growing recognition of Joshua Baraka lies a set of decisions most fans never see.

For him, the road forward seems defined not by what he shows, but by what he is willing to postpone.
