Where Did Lady Mariam Go After “Tindatine”?

If you were around in 2004, the song “Tindatine” by Mariam Namukasa, famously known as Lady Mariam, is one your ears should be familiar with.

The track was a massive hit that dominated airwaves across the country and quickly made her one of Western Uganda’s most recognized musical stars.

But after that major success, many Ugandans were left wondering what happened.

The name Lady Mariam slowly faded from the spotlight, and for some, it may sound like a name from the history books.

In a recent interview with Sanyuka TV, the singer finally spoke out and shed some light on her long silence in the industry.

She admitted that she has taken a step back from the music scene for personal reasons.

“I had to give myself some time to sort some things out. You know, life is not always a straight path. It has many turns,” she said.

While she did not reveal much about her future plans, Lady Mariam hinted that she could be working on something new.

She made it clear that she does not want to make promises but prefers to let her actions speak for themselves.

“Check on me in a month’s time, at least,” she concluded.
