White House Denies Trump Considering Clemency for Diddy
The White House has shut down reports that President Donald Trump is thinking about commuting Sean “Diddy” Combs’ jail term.
Earlier reports claimed Trump might follow up his recent move for former Congressman George Santos with a pardon for Diddy, 55.
Officials called those reports false and stressed that only the president decides on clemency.
Diddy is behind bars in Brooklyn, serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution-related charges. He has completed 13 months of his term.
While cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering, he remains convicted on two counts tied to transporting women for prostitution.
His lawyers have already signaled plans to appeal. They argue that the laws used in his case are outdated, pointing to the Mann Act as irrelevant in today’s legal system.
Trump has commented on the case before, describing it as “interesting” and suggesting Diddy was “half innocent.”
Still, he indicated that clemency is unlikely, though he has surprised the public with past decisions.
The case brought renewed attention to Diddy’s past, including abuse toward ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
The judge noted the harm caused and criticized his behavior as severe and damaging.
