Who Has Conquered Lugogo Cricket Oval? Spice Diana Names Her Top Five Artistes
When it comes to musical concerts in Uganda, the Lugogo Cricket Oval is one of the most respected and arguably the biggest concert venues, serving as a true test of an artiste’s popularity.
Filling it is no easy feat, and when an artiste manages to do so, it becomes a clear indicator of their massive fan base, offering them a major achievement to boast about.
One artiste who has successfully filled this highly regarded venue is Namukwaya Hajara Diana, popularly known as Spice Diana.
During a TikTok Live session with fellow artistes Crysto Panda and Bruno K, the “Siri Regular” singer was asked to name the top five musicians she believes have successfully rocked the stage at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
In no particular order, she mentioned herself, along with fellow stars Winnie Nwagi, Ray G, Cindy Sanyu, and King Saha.
However, while Spice Diana focused on those who have thrived at the venue, it is important to note that not all concerts at Lugogo Cricket Oval have been successful.
Over the years, several artistes, including high-profile ones, have hosted events there that unfortunately fell short of expectations and were deemed flops.
Notable names said to have had less-than-successful shows at the venue include Gravity Omutujju, Big Eye, and Salongo Siraje, among others.
Despite these setbacks, the venue remains a symbol of triumph for those who can draw large crowds, making it one of the most respected milestones for artistes in Uganda’s music scene.
