Why Abtex Wants Nobat Behind Bars for Six Months

Veteran promoter Abtex has weighed in following the arrest of Norbert Twezire, popularly called Nobat Events, on December 4, 2025.

In an interview with Daily Soup, Abtex revealed that he had previously acted as a surety for Nobat during an earlier arrest.

He said he had warned Nobat against abusive behavior upon his release, but the promoter ignored his advice.

Now, Abtex wants Nobat to face the full consequences of his actions.

I told him. I was one of his sureties when he was arrested. I warned him that if he abused people again, I would not stand as his surety. I do not believe in belittling anyone, no matter their background or status. Abusing others is unacceptable. He needs to be an example for the rest. What I want most is for him to be arrested for at least six months. It takes getting arrested for some people to learn. We just got him out of jail, and yet he comes out and continues to abuse people. We advised him as his elders, and he ignored us

This time, Abtex made it clear he will not be visiting Nobat in prison.

I am not going to be among those who visit Nobat. I believe he should be arrested for six months so that he can reform and become a better person.

The arrest comes after complaints were reportedly filed at Nateete Police Station by several top Ugandan entertainers.

Reports indicate that Eddy Kenzo filed eight cases, Jose Chameleone three, and Mariam Tindatine one, bringing the total number of charges against Nobat to 12.
