Why Big Eye Says New Artistes Cannot Push Out Veterans
Uganda’s music scene is seeing a strong surge of fresh talent, with new voices dominating charts and conversations.
Artistes like Ava Peace, Kapeke, Elijah Kitaka, Jowy Landa, and Dax Vibez, among others, are steadily building momentum, raising questions about where that leaves the veterans.
But for Big Eye StarBoss, the rise of new artistes is not a threat.
Instead, he sees it as part of how the industry naturally works.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Flexx, the singer welcomed the emergence of new talent, saying the industry needs fresh faces.
However, he was quick to point out that a newcomer’s success does not erase those who came before them.
He explained that the music business continues for everyone, with each artiste maintaining their own audience and lane.
We want to see new artistes come up, and that does not mean that when a new artiste rises, they take the spot of someone who has already been there. Business still goes on, and everyone continues doing their own.

To drive his point home, Big Eye used a simple everyday comparison.
He likened the situation to products on the market, saying when a new soda is introduced, it does not mean the older one disappears.
According to him, some consumers will remain loyal to what they already know, while others may try the new option out of curiosity.
Still, many of those who experiment often return to the original choice after realizing it suits them better.
For example, when a new soda comes on the market, it does not mean the old one disappears. Some will still drink it. Then there are those who will taste the new one and go back to the old one. They try the new one only to realize they like the old one better.
To Big Eye, the rise of new talent is not bad news for veterans.
He believes both sides can win in the same industry.
