Why Bruce Melodie Keeps Choosing Sasha Vybz for His Biggest Projects

The creative chemistry between Rwandan music star Bruce Melodie and Ugandan director Sasha Vybz is hard to ignore.

From high budget visuals to cross border releases, the pair have built a partnership that keeps delivering.

And despite Uganda having no shortage of talented video directors, Bruce continues to trust Sasha with his biggest ideas.

Speaking to Flexx, the Rwandan hitmaker made it clear he sticks with Sasha because he refuses to accept limitations.

I do not like it when someone says, ‘Bruce, this is not possible.’ Sasha is that kind of person who goes for it. If we are looking for this type of visuals, that is exactly what we aim for. We have to make anything possible to make it happen.

He further explained that their partnership is driven by shared ambition.

Together, they are focused on pushing beyond the region.

I feel like the energy is matching. We want to move from East Africa to the global scene together, and yes, we did it. For example, he shot the original song Funga Macho. Even the one with Shaggy, When She’s Around (Funga Macho), he shot it. That means we go for it and we really know what we want.

Bruce Melodie’s dream goes beyond East Africa, and he trusts Sasha Vybz to help turn it into reality.
