Why Comedian Napoleone Ehmah Calls Jose Chameleone the Greatest Musician Ever
Comedian Napoleone Ehmah, real name Emmanuel Otim, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone, reflecting on how the artiste shaped his career and life.
In his post, Napoleon revealed that his admiration for Chameleone began in 1999 at a Scouts Camping event in Soroti, where he first heard Chameleone’s hit song Mama Mia.
This moment sparked a deep connection to Chameleone’s music, further solidified by hits like Njo Karibu, Jamila, and Bei Kali.
Napoleone, as a young man, found a role model in Chameleone, admiring not just his talent, but his hard work and charisma.
He explained how Chameleone’s music was the first he ever heard “balokole” sing without guilt, and from that point, Napoleone aspired to follow in the singer’s footsteps.
After fully diving into the entertainment industry following university, Napoleon had the chance to meet Chameleone in 2011, a moment that led to him performing at Chameleone’s ValuValu Concert and later MCing his Badilisha Concert in 2012.
Napoleone described these experiences as deeply inspirational, emphasizing that one of his life’s greatest joys has been meeting and becoming friends with someone he once looked up to.
The comedian wrapped up his post by sharing his excitement over a recent event in Mbarara, where he performed alongside Chameleone at a comedy show.
Calling the experience “magical,” Napoleon expressed his gratitude and concluded with the statement, “Chameleone is the greatest musician our nation has ever seen.”
