Why Every Artiste Needs a Personal DJ, According to Dr Lover Bowy
In music, timing and chemistry can make or break a performance, and every move and beat matters.
For many artistes, having a personal DJ is the secret to getting it right, as they can anticipate every cue and handle the unexpected seamlessly.
Ugandan vocalist and songwriter Dr Lover Bowy is no different.
During a sit-down with Level Up, he revealed that he never performs without his own DJ, saying their bond is what keeps every performance on point.
They understand you, to be honest. How my personal DJ handles my performances, Eddy Kenzo’s DJ would not be able to do it to my satisfaction. They can do it for me, but only after I have worked with them a couple of times.
He added that having a personal DJ is a common practice among many musicians, especially for shows abroad.
Most musicians, when they get shows abroad, move with their personal DJs. Eddy Kenzo often moves with his DJ, and King Saha as well. There is always that one person who understands you so well that even when you cough during a performance, they know what to do. So I have a personal DJ who understands me.
In an industry where every detail counts, the “Welaba” hitmaker believes the right DJ can make all the difference.
