Why Karole Kasita Says Political Rally Gigs Are Often Not Worth It

Ugandan singer Karole Kasita has opened up about why she often turns down requests to perform at political rallies, revealing that several political parties have reached out to her over time.

Speaking to Tawfiq Media, Karole said she is very selective about where she performs and only accepts engagements she feels are truly worth her time and energy.

According to her, while political parties do offer payment, the amounts usually fall short of what she expects.

They call me but when I weigh, I see it is not worth it. I go where it is worth it. They give money, but it is not the money that I want.

However, Karole Kasita was quick to clear the air on one assumption that often follows such statements.

Despite her reluctance, she has not completely stayed away from political rallies.

She revealed that she has actually performed at two rallies.

I have performed at one or two political rallies, but for the same person, Hon. Kirumira Hassan. He called me, and you know I sing where I have been called. So, he called me, paid me, and I sang for him.
