Why Producer Jonah’s Work Speaks Louder Than His Name
With 10 years in the industry as a producer and now three years as a singer, Producer Jonah has quietly built an impressive portfolio.
He has produced hits such as “Kawanga Yogera” by the late Baby Deo, “Nsambira Nyuma Nga Janzi” by Irene Namatovu, “Tuli Luno” by Geoffrey Lutaya, “Emundu” by Kazibwe Kapo, and “Love” by Sheebah & Aziz Azion, among others.
Despite these massive records, his name rarely comes up when conversations about top producers in Uganda arise.
Speaking to Daily Soup, Producer Jonah attributed this to the fact that the musicians he works with do not always promote his name widely.
Could be that the musicians do not talk about me. Musicians are the ones who introduce producers to the public. A musician can go into an interview and say that this song was produced by Producer Jonah, but you may find that has not been happening.

He acknowledged, however, that some artists do give him credit, singling out Mary Bata in particular.
They have done it, but it is hard to produce a song for Mary Bata and she does not sing about me. She mentions me, like in the middle of the song.
With his 10-year anniversary celebration, Producer Jonah is hopeful that his name will gain more recognition in the public eye.
