Why Reign Believes Comedy Will Not Hinder His Political Career

Comedian Reign Omusoyisoyi, one half of the comic duo Maulana & Reign, is determined to run for the Rubaga South Parliamentary seat in 2026.

While some may find it difficult to take his political aspirations seriously because of his comedy career, Reign clarified that comedy does not affect his ability to think and reason like anyone else.

He pointed out to Sanyuka TV that there is no evidence to suggest that starting a career in comedy affects one’s intelligence or judgment.

With his background as a trained teacher and journalist, he believes he possesses the respect, knowledge, and confidence needed to represent people effectively.

He reassured the public that entering active politics would not mean abandoning his comedy career.

Reign promised to maintain his commitment to both fields, ensuring that he continues to entertain the public while fulfilling his duties as a parliamentarian.
