Why Sarkodie Says Music Beats Real Estate as an Investment
Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie says music is one of the most rewarding investments, on the same level as real estate and other major industries.
In a recent interview with broadcaster NYDJ, he explained that the financial potential of music is often underestimated.
Many outsiders overlook its value, but industry insiders know it can deliver long-term income.
He compared music to manufacturing, where expenses such as machinery, salaries, and daily operations reduce profits.
Music, he said, works differently. Once a song is complete, it can continue earning with little cost.
Sarkodie described music as a lasting business asset, not just art.
He encouraged investors to recognise its value and support artistes, pointing out that unlike most products, music does not require constant maintenance to keep earning.
For Sarkodie, music stands out as one of the smartest investments to make.
With most products, you must spend time and money on maintenance. You pay staff and cover costs to keep operations running. For example, in the drinks business, machines need constant servicing and labour, which adds to expenses. Music works differently. Once created, it continues to earn with minimal upkeep. There is no better investment. That is why I encourage investors to fully back artists and the industry.
