Willy Mukabya Refuses to Bow to Retirement Pressure, Says Music Has No Age Limit
Kadongo Kamu icon Willy Mukabya has firmly stated that he has no intention of retiring from music anytime soon, despite growing calls from some quarters for him to step down due to his age.
With a career spanning several decades, Mukabya has earned a respected place in the industry, but that has not shielded him from critics who believe it is time for him to retire.
In an interview with Sanyuka TV, the veteran singer made it clear that music, unlike other professions, does not have a defined retirement age.
“Music is not like football where one grows old, retires, and then becomes a coach. No, music is something one can do until God calls them from earth,” he explained.
While others may speculate about his retirement, Mukabya maintains that the decision is ultimately in God’s hands.
“When it comes to when I plan to retire from music, that’s up to God’s plans for me, and I leave that in His hands,” he said.
He also addressed his critics, reminding them that constant criticism is a sign of success.
“People only talk about someone who is not doing well. Anyone who has achieved something will always be talked about, whether positively or negatively. You should only worry when no one is talking about you,” he concluded.
