Winnie Nwagi Opens Up About Being Misjudged: ‘My Honesty Is Not Arrogance’

Ugandan singer Winnie Nwagi, whose real name is Winnie Nakanwagi, has responded to claims that she is arrogant and overly strict.

In an interview with Sanyuka TV, the “Musawo” hitmaker set the record straight, saying that such accusations are far from the truth.

“I am not arrogant. I just know what I want and I speak honestly,” Winnie explained, dismissing the idea that she comes across as harsh.

According to her, many people expect their egos to be constantly flattered, but she does not indulge in that behavior.

She believes that people are different and come from various backgrounds, which makes it unrealistic to expect everyone to act the same.

“I cannot be like you, and you cannot be like me. I am who I am, respectfully,” she added.

One of the recurring rumors about Winnie is that her fans are intimidated by her and hesitant to approach her.

However, she has firmly refuted these claims, stating that she is always happy to interact with her supporters.

“I always make time for my fans and take pictures with them,” she said, making it clear that the claims of her fans fearing her are baseless.

Despite the positive interactions she has with many fans, Winnie acknowledged that there are others who deliberately try to paint a negative image of her.

“There are those who see me as a good person, then there are those who want to create a negative narrative about me,” she shared.

The accusation of arrogance, in particular, appears to be the one that affects her the most.

“When they call me arrogant, even though I am not. It hurts me, but I have nothing to do about it because it will be said forever,” she concluded, accepting that such comments are beyond her control.
