Wizkid and Asake’s REAL, Vol. 1 Climbs Charts Hours After Release
Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Asake are off to a fast start with their new joint EP, REAL, Vol. 1.
Soon after its midnight release on January 23, the project began climbing charts across major streaming platforms.
Fans quickly pushed the four track EP upward, showing strong support for the duo’s major collaboration.
The project features Turbulence, Jogodo, Iskolodo, and Alaye. Its sound blends Afro fusion and amapiano, matching both artistes’ styles.
Even before the full EP arrived, Jogodo had already made an impact with a massive first day streaming number on Spotify Nigeria for a joint track.
Since release, the EP has reached number one on Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums.
It also topped album charts in several African countries and made history by reaching the top spot on the UK Apple Music album chart for an African EP.
The project entered the United States Apple Music album chart as well, while its songs occupied the top spots on Nigeria’s Apple Music songs chart.
With strong streaming numbers and visuals like Turbulence building momentum, REAL, Vol. 1 is shaping up to be one of the year’s major Afrobeats releases.
