Wizkid Declares Himself Nigeria’s Number One Artiste
Nigerian music star Wizkid has sparked new debate after boldly declaring himself the number one Afrobeats artiste in the country.
The singer made the statement as discussions about Nigeria’s “Top Three” musicians continue to divide fans online.
The popular “Big 3” tag usually refers to Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, who are widely seen as Nigeria’s biggest global stars.
Breaking his silence on the heated debate, Wizkid took to his Instagram story and wrote on a whiteboard, “Type sht. Big Wiz. Number 1.”
His post quickly went viral, reigniting arguments among fans over who truly sits at the top of Nigeria’s music scene.
Wizkid’s comment came just weeks after Tiwa Savage questioned the “Big 3” conversation for excluding fellow singer Tems.
“I feel like it is unfair to have a conversation about the Top 3 and not mention Tems,” she said at the time.
With opinions divided, one thing is clear: the battle for Nigeria’s music crown is far from over.
