Women Seek Songwriting Help More Than Men, Dokta Brain Says
Renowned songwriter Dokta Brain has revealed he played a hand in Uganda’s latest anthem, “Ki Uganda Kinyuma.”
The track, released on October 3, celebrates the spirit of being Ugandan and, of course, the unmatched party culture.
It features Omega 256, Acidic Vokoz, Mark D Urban, and Feffe Bussi.
Speaking on Sanyuka Bigenda Bitya, Dokta Brain explained his role in the song, clarifying that his contribution was specific to Omega 256.
I did not write for Acidic Vokoz or Feffe Bussi. Mark D Urban writes for himself as well. I only wrote the two hooks, ‘Don’t delay’ and ‘Ki Uganda Kinyuma,’ which are sung by Omega.
Drawing from his experience as a songwriter, Dokta Brain also shared an observation about gender and songwriting.
Men often write their own songs. I have written for fewer men than women.
With his hooks featured in “Ki Uganda Kinyuma,” Dokta Brain continues to prove why he is one of Uganda’s most sought-after songwriters.
