X Limits Ask Grok Feature to Premium Subscribers
Social media platform X has limited access to its “Ask Grok” feature, making it available only to users subscribed to Premium and Premium+ plans.
The feature allows people to tag the AI assistant Grok in replies to ask questions or generate images within conversations. It had previously been accessible to a broader group of users on the platform.
Free users attempting to use the tool now receive a prompt informing them that the feature is reserved for paying subscribers.
The AI chatbot was developed by xAI and integrated into the platform to provide conversational responses, search assistance, and image generation capabilities.
While Grok can still be accessed through other parts of the platform, the in thread “Ask Grok” reply option is now behind the subscription paywall.
The change has triggered conversations online, with some users noting that one of the easiest ways to interact with Grok on X now requires a paid plan.
